About
I am a driven individual who has focused on finding opportunities to grow as a professional, creator, and person. One of my earliest "This is cool, I would like to try this" moments was at my local library in 2010, where I discovered performance poetry at 11 years old. I went home that night and wrote my first poem, which I performed at the following open mic. In 2012 at a Girl Scout meeting, I saw a flyer advertising auditions for a short film being produced in my area. I auditioned and received the lead role for Skin, a short film that was screened internationally at festivals, including Sundance, SXSW, Florida Film Festival, and the Palm Springs International ShortFest. Within my first week of being enrolled in public school, I found myself immersed in my high school's production of Peter Pan, which introduced me to musical theater. From 2013 to 2019, I performed in high school musicals and choral ensembles, and I volunteered (on and off stage) for productions periodically with the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop. In 2019, after attending a New York Press Association conference of my own volition, I was invited to apply for a paid internship with one of my local newspapers. I was offered the role, which later blossomed into an official part-time/freelance reporter position. A few months after I completed my undergraduate degree in 2021, I enrolled in a graduate school program for strategic communications and public relations.
These opportunities were just a few that helped define who I am today: a passionate creator who is driven to learn and produce impactful work.
